When i arrived in Verona i was completely amazed !
I was amazed because i didn’t expect the city to be that beautiful… This place, in which 3 of Shakespeare’s place are set belongs to the World Heritage Site rewarded by Unesco because of it’s ancient buildings such as the amphitheatre in the city centre and its amazing architecture.
My morning began right at this place you can see on the photo above: Piazza delle Erbe. I started the day with a delicious Cappuccino and the view on those wonderfull buildings which are located there (many of them are older than 800 years )
A wonderful thing about this city is the different architectural style you can find here: That’s the reason why many of the older buildings remind you very much of the Venetian Style. After finishing breakfast I got lost in the side streets of Verona, not knowing where to go but somehow, i ended up at the beautiful Arena which is of course way smaller than the Colosseum in Rome, but still very breathtaking. I walked down the “Via Roma”, a shopping street wich leads to the Castelvecchio, castle directly on the riverside of the Adige (a blogpost of Castelvecchio comes soon ) :)
To be honest, the best way to explore a place is to get lost ! I hate feeling like a tourist, hopping on those tourist buses on not exploring the city in the right way… I prefer to stroll through the streets like I want to, stopping when i feel like doing so and just getting lost- For me, that’s the way you should feel if you’re a tourist :)
