One day before I headed to Italy, I spontaneously purchased a new camera. Since I have been thinking a long time about upgrading to a full frame camera, I just told myself that the time has come to invest some of the money I’ve been saving into photography. To be honest with you, I was actually not really sure about what camera to get: The Sony a7, which is a great camera by the way, or the “iconic” Canon 6D. I couldn’t really decide which one to take until I thought about it more precisely the evening before I went to the store to get my new camera. I compared both models and just thought that I would probably prefer the Canon 6D as I’m obviously used to Canon cameras already.
If you are thinking about getting a new camera, I would really recommend you to head over to DP Review as you will be able to find loads of reviews, sample shots, comparisons etc… Another great place for getting all the info you need about cameras is the Youtube Channel of DigitalRev.
So now I’m gonna tell you something about the shooting: I basically just wanted to take some photos of a friend of mine in order to test the Camera together with my 50mm lens which is great for portraits and close-ups. We shooted at different locations throughout the park of the resort where I stayed on my way from Siena to Verona. (If you haven’t seen the travel guide to Siena yet, klick here) To give the photos a special touch, we tried out to shoot with some cool accessories such as the funny propeller beanie …
