I’m really happy that I finally had the chance to visit the home of Ernst Fuchs, one of Austria’s most famous painters and sculptors: The painter dedicated his own rooms in his wonderful Villa built by the famous Jugenstil architect Otto Wagner to be a private museum and let the people see how he lived, painted and got inspired. So it’s a museum where you can actually look at the painter’s art pieces while standing in the middle of his living room. Ernst Fuchs was born on February 13th 1930 and this month, Ernst Fuchs unfortunately passed away on November 9th.
Before he died he said that his home shall always remain to be a museum because he wanted the people to experience as well how he lived…. So in this blogpost I am not showing you all of his paintings: Instead I want to show you how his home looked like (I mean you can always see a painter’s paintings but you will rarely be able to walk into his bed- or living room right ? ) ;)
