Located in the hills above the city of Innsbruck, Ambras Caslte is one of Tyrol’s most beautiful and charming castles. It was built in the 16th century and the most beautiful part of the inside of Ambras Caslte is the Spanish Hall, which contains an intricate wood-inlay ceiling and walls adorned with 27 full-length portraits of the rulers of Tyrol.( the picture of the hall is featured below ) ;) Nowadays the whole castle is opened for visitors and besides the wonderful rooms to look at, the castle offers 2 different museums as well as exhibitions.

I visited the charming castle during my last day in Innsbruck together with a very good friend: We drove to the Castle from our Hotel in the city centre and walked through the beautiful park to Ambras castle: If you are ever visiting Ambras Castle, make sure to include some more time for a walk thorough the park which is especially beautiful during autumn and winter time :)
